I grew up with that tagline.
It was a familiar tune with a familiar phrase. It has, in recent year, been replaced by the more catchy, more updated, more groovy tagline “I’m lovin’ it!”
I persuaded my friend to have lunch with me at McDonalds this afternoon as I missed having a value meal at the fast food chain. I had my usual Fillet O Fish meal. The fish fillet was piping hot (fresh from the frier) and the fries were too. I haven’t had a McDonalds meal since May 1. That was the eve of my last exam paper last semester. (ok, too much details!)
So, I was thinking … I liked the groovy new brand. Wang Lee Hom sings the mandarin version and his picture is plastered over all Mcdonalds’ outlet in China. In Singapore, I don’t think they have a spokesperson for it, but it’s still a catchy tagline that gets into people’s minds.
BUT … I do remininsce the old phrase. It was a simple 1 liner usually read by a little kid in the most innocent fashion. (The good ol’ days!)
and so, I bought my Mac, ate my Mac, ordered my Mac … all in a single day! (“,)
I’m lovin’ it!
p.s. After this evening career talk by the world’s largest energy company, I can safely rule ou Engineering as a career. (Well, I never did kid myself with that option to begin with.)
