very very dare si chuan food!
the food was mostly red hot and very very hot … not recommended for the faint hearted … like Chin Keong (one of my house mates) he eat until he almost cry … keep asking for rice to go with the food … cos he cannot take it liao. look out for the pictures of the delicious food when its up on my photo gallery …
after dinner we went to the convenient store to get an ice cream … magnum!!! yum yum! walked back from 番夷路 eating ice cream … at first never wear gloves … my fingers almost froze!!! then wore gloves and phew!!!
shit … broke a tooth filling while eating a peanut … that’s it!!! not gg to go back spore just for that …. so have to live with it … sighs … lets hope nothing major happens …
tmr’s temperature is suppose to go to -4 degrees … and wed and thurs is suppose to snow … hmm … let’s hope I survive …
ok … tmr’s work .. I hope there will be break through … went to OG’s server location somewhere with my sup and I asked him if there was a deadline for the software upgrade… he said would b e good if it can be ready after CNY … erm … told him that with the current status I might not be able to handle anything at all … he say he now a bit busy hard to help me loook through the code, so he will get someone to help me and see if can explain to me … I do hope all will work out will … if not I am really useless liao …

had a wonderful dinner with Uncle Lim at Su Zhe Jiang restaurant along 茂名路 the food was delicious and I was stuffed with food by Uncle Lim … gosh, he sure knows how to feed people … he kept piling food on my plate … I was almost bursting when I left the restaurant …
He also introduced me to his workers at Capital Land and his secretary, Jessie. Suppose to help bring me around if need to … heh! An NUS Intern has a PA too??? haha! Oh well, if need to I can call upon her to help, after all she is a local and definitely can help out.
Went to the train station again today trying to buy tickets to go 杭州 Hang Zhou but realized they only sell tickets within the next 2 days there. If we wanted to buy tickets to later dates we had to go to a place near 赤峰路站 which is also near 复旦大学. Reached there but they dun sell tickets for the 9th or 10th of Feb … cos’ they only sell tickets 10 days in advance … I guess its to prevent any black market selling of tickets. We’ll see how tmr… worst thing is that tmr got work so cannot make it to the ticket selling place to get the ticket also. oh well!
Yesterday when to 七浦路 to look at the flea market and also to 襄阳市场 to look look see see only … I did not start buying yet … still have a whole year for that … Then met up with some of the Seniors to go for dinner at a place called 伊加伊 … the food was not that great … and the service was terrible … and they even turned on the air conditioning when its already so cold!!! aiyah … boycott!
After dinner we made a very very long walk down to 新天地 where all the PUBs are … did not go into any of them since not my cup of tea anyway … and did not want to spend so much money while I am still so new here … after all later on also can go on to visit all these places …
Ok, was cut off trying to settle my mobile phone line … trying to get the RMB12 tao套餐 hope it got through, i think the operator should nt have bluffed me … I even asked for an English Operator … and its works … hey!

Its the weekend …
Gosh, I have never been so happy about it being the weekend before …
Yesterday was the NUS Enterprise Day and there was the first ever debate
between the 3 NOC colleges and Singapore. It was really a rather enjoyable
debate though I felt the winning team … Silcon Valley … did not deserve
to win. Their debating skills among the 4 teams were the worst! and they won
only because of the judge’s perception of the Valley. Oh well, no hard
feelings … after all its just a friendly competition!
Din go back to work yesterda, because my senior in the same company wanted
to go back home and complete his assignment so I ended my not going to work
as well … yea!!! the Great Pretender!!!
In the evening while the rest was at work, Chin Keong and I went to Shi Men
Yi Lu to walk walk first … before the dinner at Mei Long Zhen Jiu Jia for
dinner which Gabriel was treating… or did he treat … Word of advice:
don’t go back to that place for any reason … afterall, the food there was
horrible… all the seafood was not fresh one! and for such a “high class”
restaurant the service was not good at all … So rather prefer the dinner
at the Dong Bei Ren the night before… pictures of the places … you all
slowly wait for me to upload ok… connection here is not very good …

the nite after the dinner was spent walking around or to Renmin Guang Chang
and waiting for 1 am to come to go KTV … yes, I went to ta KTV but I never
sing … I dun sing people … believe me when I say that! I dun lie … !!!
KC and Min Chuan is a good singer though! (even kenny)
ok, later going out to Xiang Yang Shi Chang liao … today half the day was
spent sleeping … tired … cos got home at 4am this morning only … and
slept till 12 noon …

today is the 2nd day of work!
boss (2nd in charge) has just left and so there is no supervisor around for
the moment … I’m not going to pretend that I am doing anything … since I
am not really getting anywhere with figuring out how to amend the code that
I have been given … the bloody programmer who did the code before me …
no documentation, no comments at all … I am suppose to decipher the
variables the methods all by myself … how am I gg to survive … its just
not going to work. stress! gg to get more white hair before the end of the
month … and to think its only the 2nd day of work … cannot imagine …

tmr morning there is going to be the debate at fudan university in
conjunction with NUS Enterprise day … will be going for that as an
audience … then come back to work … … … …
imagine you are sitting in the office and the sky gets dark outside and you
realize its only 5 pm and that you still got around 1h30min or 2h more to go
…
let me go back to deciphering code … can imagine the historians trying to
decipher some ancient language based on written pictures or engraving only
… mind breaking!

Oh no!!! Its raining again … just to add to the whole low morale of everyone …
I think rather bad luck these few days … First day in Shanghai, I had a cold … and I have been sniffing non stop ever since … The night before had so much trouble breathing because both my nose were blocked … and breathing through the mouth was so not fun as the air was so cold … Next bad thing to happen was I accidentally sprained my back while trying out some slippers … aiyo … lucky that don’t hurt so much anymore … Then yesterday while I was getting out of the shower hit my leg into the wash basin table … aiyo!!! now I have a bruise and alittle scrapped skin on my left knee …
Must renounce all these horrible things and believe that the good will be coming …
Today we are taking it easy since its been a tiring past few days … Every time we go out for a meal, its a nice “Short” walk … I estimate the length of each trip to be from the NUS bus stop at Engin all the way to Clementi each time we want to walk out to do something … Yup, that’s short … I will be super good at walking in a few more months …
Hmm … People, pls dun use the Comment tool!!! I cannot see it in China … wait until I find something that can work in China … Meanwhile, want to leave a msg, pls use the tag board, at least I can see it … Now, I can’t access the www.edwinting.tk site, but at least i can see the backend site which is edwinting.batcave.net lucky for me … so in a way I can still see my site …
uploading pictures is a nightmare … every photo takes like 3 – 5 mins … and after 1 – 2 photos, the connection breaks !!! argh!!! Like I constantly say … get use to it!
MSN so sux … keep getting blocked or D/C … and the audio function doesn’t work! Blah!!!

aiyo … first full day in Shanghai … its raining, raining and raining … and it only started when we arrived in Shanghai … oops!
yesterday was a long tiring day that included the very long flight from Singapore to Bangkok and then on to Shanghai. Finally having arrived at Shanhai Pudong International Airport the cold air was COLD … especially with the wind …
all 4 of us took a bus (airport line 2) all the way from the Airport Exit 7 to Jing An Si MRT bus station … there we waited in the Cold for Min Chuan and Yvonne to come meet us and bring us to the apartment … Waiting in the cold … NO FUN! … next wait was a long one for a cab to take us to the mrt, but none were willing to come and pick us up … and we decided to take the MRT … yes, we took the MRT with al our luggage, carrying it down the stairs and up the stairs again … gosh, it was a tiring experience … The Samsonite luggage was definitely not fun to carry or roll, as you had to lift up the weight of the bag and drag it along with you … That was one time I totally dread bringing so much luggage … oh well … made it back to the Apartment … at least it was a nice and cosy place …
Went for dinner after which and to the nearby Supermart 乐购 to buy some bed sheets and quilt cover … and some other tidbits … Came back exhausted!
This morning wanted to go and make the local PASS but could not. Went to the first 公安 but the police officer told us that it was the wrong place for our apartment and that we had to go to another place … so we did … after our lunch at 大娘水饺 nice hot 水饺 is delicious! Went to the other 公安 and the person told us that the landlord had not register her apartment yet so we could not register ourself… oh well, at least she said that she will not fine us for not registering on time as she already knows about our predicament … the landlady, very nice … will be coming over all the way from HangZhou to register for us … very very nice lady indeed!
Ok, gg to rest … back aching and shoulder aching from yesterday’s “excercise” still … Have fun looking at my blog … I can’t see the website … www.edwinting.tk

My final post before I leave for Shanghai.
Feel so sleepy … think tonight also very hard to fall asleep since I will be too excited.
Had dinner with my dad and brother … Chicken Rice … something i think I will miss when I get there.
Later going to meet the guys at the “lao di fang” … better not stay out too late … must sleep early … if not fall sick then jia lat!!!
Ok, got to do somemore calling to people.

Hmm, a really interesting experience eating at the Restaurant … took a while for me to get used to the revolving platform. The ambience was really good, though the lighting was really too dim to see the menu properly. While waiting for dinner, there were even 3 singers who came by to serenade us … haha … my uncle asked for Yesterday Once More, after they sang a beautiful rendition of Spanish Eyes.
Dinner was lovely. The Prime Rib was nicely done. The Duck Liver that Ryan had and I took a taste of was delicious … I had never ever tasted liver done in this manner before… soft , crispy and the inside melts in your mouth!
It was a wonderful dinner … perfect for sending people off … haha … once again, a big thank you to my uncle for the very very good dinner!
