This title has nothing to do with the 4th time I am installing Windows XP or the multiple times more of partial installations cos’ it just did not go to the right place … I wish the CD or the loader would just let me choose where i want to install winxp all the time instead of being smart and install it itself anywhere it likes to … hmph!!!

anyway, went to watch a play which my brother acted in … he was taking an acting course by Leigh McDonald who was the Director for this play and the producer is Malti Laiwani, the Indian actress in Archar who played the mum … Gosh, she is larger than life!!! (heh … no offence!)

The show was interesting , made up of 5 small skits and each had their own flavour … my brother played rahter extremem roles at that and was very comical … theatre is really fun … a nice play to explore the boudaries of oneself … I especially like comedies… melodramas come across alittle stale for me at times … besides good acting, of course a good and witty script is a must …

this reminds me of Bah Humbug!!! heh … ppl, remember … once again, thanks to Chin who helped me write the script … those I will still insist that I help co write it! heh … also thanks to everyone who appeared in it … and making centre stage such a memorable event … I still have the plaque! (“,)

ok, some pictures taken from the event … my mum really needs to improve her shots .. need to stabilize her hands!

My mum and my brother, Kennie

Me and my brother! (I look like the bigger brother hor, since I look so big size compared to him!)

so, here I am not re installing windows again … please please dun be mean to me … in the spirit of Christmas, ok?! …

road map checked!

December 9, 2004 · Leave a Comment

Went to School today to meet Mr Aaron Tan to get his advice for my road map. It took a total of 3 minutes, probably a little more seconds that I failed to pay attention to. Anyhow, the important thing is that I have gotten it settled. One more thing checked on the To Do list. Maybe I should actually physically write down my To Do list so that I do not actually forget stuff that I am suppose to do.

got myself the compact drive HDD 40GB and am now backing up my laptop … gosh, USB 1.0 is so damn slow … not possible to change the laptop USB to a 2.0 right? sighs!

Went to carrefour instead of going shopping for Xmas present, cos’ chin was still not feeling well, and in the end did not want to come out. Lucky you tell me early. I was at the MRT waiting to transfer to NS line to go Orchard. Instead, I went to carrefour … met Caizuan on the way … I think it took her a while to recognize me since she has not seen me and my supposedly “newer hairstyle” (although its more that a month old already.) Anyway, Carrefour does not sell a Letter Box too … hmm running out of places that I can think of that sells a Letter Box … anyone, any help?

A Samsonite Oyster cost at least $390 … wow … I never knew that piece of plastic, or whatever material it was made of cost that much … now I am beginning to feel why my mother keeps nagging me for not insisting she buy the Samsonite Oyster that was on offer a while back at Taka … it is a BIG difference going at only $150 (prob older model, but hey, who’s going to notice … the cargo men?)

Anyway, got a good deal with some CDs at Carrefour. $4 each for a Sun Yan Zi and a Karen Mok album (2 Disc). Sun Yan Zi’s Wei Wan Cheng … one of the albums that I have yet to get in either CD or mp3 format … so $4 was a good deal. Karen’s CDs … was quite a surprise to find 2 CDs that my brother already had … aiyah … so wasted $4 on that! oh well … Xmas present, anyone? The CDs are the disc one of her greatest hits .. the yellow cover one … and the Jiu Shi Mo Wen Wei album … I guess can’t have the best of both worlds … oh well!

anyway, do check out the photo gallery … link at the navigation bar … have uploaded some photos … not much yet … wait till I go places then will have more pictures … so till then, enjoy those for the moment … can always give me some comments on how to improve also.

December 7, 2004 · Leave a Comment

Yup, today was my mother’s birthday … and so, here is wishing her all the best and dreams come true.

Woke up this morning and it was still raining .. perfect for sleeping … so slept till almost 12noon when my mum woke me up … Lunch was ready … she had cooked Mee Sua and red eggs … since it was her Birthday … oops … never wake up in time to help! oh well …

watched Alias which I taped yesterday night … caught the show, but there was another episode they showed yesterday night … I only managed to watch 1/4 of the 2nd episode … why on earth did they decide to show a 2nd episode of Alias after the usual time slot … why why .. and to think they never inform people like a week in advance … people like me who only watch shows like Alias and Charmed .. will miss out on a whole lot of other TV listing and channel programming … and so, I missed one episode of Alias … Michael has caught Lauren .. and CUT … argh!!! hate it when such things happen! blah!

anyway , went to Crystal Jade for Dinner @ Great World City …

Here is a picture of me and my mum … (taken by my brother)

… sighs .. think I put on weight liao … can see from the picture liao!

and here is a picture of my brother who did not want to be photographed …

and so we had dinner … and my brother who still had outstanding credit to settle … foot the bill … well, he is the one that is working … and he also told me he will pay a bigger portion of the dvd player .. yea!!! heh … next time then split properly, lah … when i eventually start working …

and that wrpas up yet another day … gosh, where is time flying .. why so fast go away … i need more time … lucky i am not one of those that are leaving for Shanghai in 2 days time … I won’t feel prepared at all … still got one more month to prepare and to pick up J2EE and to read up on my SDK … (its in Chinese .. hmm) Got to reply my supervisor soon, if I have any problems …

Virgo/Libra

December 7, 2004 · Leave a Comment

Virgo/Libra
September 19 to September 23

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac; Libra is the seventh. Virgo/Libras strive to create balance and harmony between themselves and others. They bring their skills and talents together for the good of others. Despite their inherent modesty, those born on the Virgo/Libra cusp are industrious and efficient when working for a good cause. Objective and just, Virgo/Libras are excellent arbitrators and enjoy lots of friends.

The astrological symbol of Virgo is the Virgin; Libra is represented by the Scales. Virgo/Libras abhor unfairness and conflict, striving above all for peace, but at times they are easily deterred from their beliefs. They are able to see all sides of an argument, but as their mental scales sway back and forth, they may never find balance and can become fickle and indecisive. They are skilled at seeing all sides of a situation, which is an expression of Virgo’s mutable quality. Virgo/Libras are skilled at initiating group projects. In this way, the cardinal quality of Libra is exemplified. When Virgo/Libras set goals for themselves, they are determined to succeed. This astrological combination tends to be about other people rather than personal development. They are socially inclined and charming, but their focus is about smaller-scale projects and individuals. Because of Virgo’s association with individuals and health, and Libra’s innate interest in others, many Virgo/Libras are drawn toward careers in medicine.

Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury. In ancient Roman mythology, Mercury (and his Greek equivalent, Hermes) was the messenger god. He was a quick, nervous type, and he was known for his strong reasoning and ability to analyze. Communication is his province. As a planet, Mercury is androgynous. Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. In ancient Roman mythology, Venus (and her Greek equivalent, Aphrodite) was the goddess of love, beauty and pleasure. She represented joy, happiness and appreciation of beautiful things and people. Libra is the masculine, or day, aspect of Venus; Taurus is the feminine, or night aspect.

Virgo/Librans are happiest when they’re in a relationship. They are seductive and attractive, and their cultural awareness and talkative nature help them shine in the social situations they so enjoy. They tend to explore subjects deeply and are very good at understanding the deeper meaning of what others say. Many Virgo/Libras have an excellent head for business, relying on logic rather than ego or emotion to make their deals. They are reliable, practical, diligent, controlled and rational.

The element associated with Virgo is Earth. The element associated with Libra is Air. Virgo/Libras tend to respond to the world with intellect and by examining the worth of each possible response. Their intellectual orientation to the world around them makes them skilled at communication and abstract reasoning, and their intelligence combines with their interest in others to become an intellectual exploration of the people around them.

Because of their responsibility and attention to detail, those born on the Virgo/Libra cusp tend to be perfectionists. They may worry about small details, but this is often necessary when attempting to be as fair and diplomatic as possible. They are team workers, skilled at cooperative action, but they can also be self-doubting. Open-minded and always polite, they have a strong sense of loyalty because of their ability to put themselves into the shoes of others. Virgo/Libras love to debate but not to quarrel; a fine distinction that is nonetheless very important. They are kind and considerate, and they rarely display anger. Instead, they may employ subtle means of getting even when their strong sense of fairness and legality, or their refined sensitivities, are violated.

They tend to be somewhat health-conscious, which ensures they take good care of themselves and their loved ones. In their leisure time, Virgo/Libras often turn their interest in health into an exercise or fitness program. However, they have a definite lazy streak, preferring to read and go out with friends. Exercise generally appeals to them only if it is effective and allows socializing at the same time. Some have a particular affinity for activities that let them get out in nature, such as hiking and horseback riding.

In love relationships, Virgo/Libras are playful, romantic and devoted. The great strength of the Virgo/Libra-born is in their attention to detail and their desire to be of service. They pick up on the little things that most others miss. Their drive for peace and harmony and their ability to obtain balance and cooperation from a disparate group is unparalleled. Their skill at seeing all sides of a situation makes them one of the most just characters of the zodiac.
