So utterly disastrous! While most of the world was still celebrating and enjoying the peaceful night somewhere in the world something so tragic and of such magnitude occurs. The death toll is simply appalling! It seems that every year need a tragedy for it to be a complete year. There was SARS last year. Bird Flu this year and to top it off, just when we are about to end the year 2004, the world receives one of her most devastating disastor in decades. Major Earthquake (9.0 on the Ricther Scale) that caused all the tsunamis that destroyed so many other countries!
Yes, we at Singapore are indeed so fortunate! So fortunate! The only things we seriously ever worry about is “Does the clothes I wear look good?” or “What shall I have for my next meal?” or “What should I do later on?”.
As usual, we ask “why” and continually pray and hope for a better day!

Today was a damn tiring day!
Woke up almost close to 12 … Simply could not wake up! Ate lunch and went with my mum to see the doctor … Actually I was the one seeing the doctor … wanted to get some medicine for my Shanghai Trip. Even got a Flu Jab … gosh, things that NUS NOC does not advice you to do … things that NTU arranged for their students … I guess NOC == Entrepreneurial == do everything yourself! Ha Ha!
After that, went to the High Court at St Andrews Road cos’ my mother wanted to go and get a certificate of her divorce from the courts … after the initial screening and having my camera (my precious!) taken away by the guards (not suppose to bring in) and having wait in line for about 15 mins, we were told that the High Courts only handled cases before 1996 and that we should be going to the Family Court at the Subordinate Courts to get the Certificate … So, we took a bus down to Chinatown area and we went to the Family and Juvenile Courts … yup, camera taken and even my Siggs Bottle was taken out … Camera they don’t let me bring in, but camera phone they let me bring in … They actually asked me how many phones I had in my bag, cos’ I also had my PDA which has a camera, but I guessed since I surrenderred one camera they were cool about it!
Lawyers everywhere … and they all look the same .. Black suit and tie … they really all look the same! Charles … Good luck!
After that, went to People’s Park Centre, since my mother wanted to get some shampoo and hair conditioner … then when to People’s Park complex to get thick winter socks, something which I forgot to get before hand. Then went to Pearl Centre to get Medicated Oil … all for stocking up for my Shanghai Trip… I do hope I will be able to squeeze everything into my bag! heh!
Was real beat when I almost got home … walked damn alot today.
anyway, got home just in time or early … Chin and Charles was suppose to come for the gift exchange at my place …

Thanks guys for the present … it really is an interesting present … very thoughful … will use the journal … will read the book … will read the cook book … will use the calling card … will use the chilli (but might be gone before Shanghai … heh) … soup … hmm … never tried one of those before … hope its nice! Hope you all liked your presents too … It was damn alot of effort finding all of them … even though Chin’s present was bought in less time, we walked alot in that “concentrated amount” of time!

And we can only go with the flow of the changing times …
Everyone is growing up … 2 of my younger cousins had completed O levels and are going on to either JC or Poly. One could not decide what she was going to take. The other was going to take nursing in Poly. Well, all the Best!
All the young kids are getting more techie … in fact the uncle and aunties are also more techie! My 9 year old cousin has a Canon Ixus 30 … my 16 year old cousin has a Sony T3 … drools! Apparently, my uncle got the cameras free from a friend … but still WOW! My uncle got the new cool nokia retro black phone… my grand auntie got the nokia retro white version… my cousin got this nokia black phone (looks cool but is huge … compared to my T610) … my brother got the nokia the velvet phone (his is a limited edition, white colour leather casing … gift too … ) … hmm … how come I don’t get such good gifts … oops! Got my Camera so can’t complain!

Merry Christmas, one and all!
Christmas present checked!
Hmm … got a Zara gift voucher from my brother … he is really running out of gift ideas for me … haha! I’ll treat the Casio Exilim my mother bought for me as her Christmas present to me! Got a red packet from my grand mother … (so farnie … she say, treat this as a Xmas present!) The final gift … from NUS … hmm … dunno whether to be sad or happy!
C+ for CS3215 … yes!!! It finally came … my first grade with a C in it! All thanks to … (me?!) blah … no more finger pointing … no more scolding … no more what ifs … smile and be happy … tmr will be a better day … next year will be a better year (i hope!) … will next year will be different, for sure! The rest was good … lucky for TR2201 (and surprisingly CS3220) to help pull up the C+ so I effectively got a B overall for this semester … drop but not so drastically still … well, what to do … my mother keeps telling me that even though it might be mathematically impossible to get a 4.6 CAP, I should still have faith that it can be miraculously occur! (Faith so strong?! … still working on it!)

The date that I fly to Shanghai … (if everything goes as planned) so excited and yet so full of apprehension all at once … guess when the time slowly draws ever nearer the “bu she de” will get greater … even though part of me can’t wait to go out and explore the world …
My legs are so aching … walked the whole day … and so sleepy too …
oh finally got the post box at IMM the Home FIX shop … (the one which I wanted to find at TAKA but was closed already) not as big as I hoped for or the right design, but I guess it will make do!

Its that time of year again!
Nostalgic and magical!
But so damn crowded in Orchard or any part of town … hate the crowd … need my nice peaceful home!
Had a nice lunch with my Grand Parents, Grand Auntie, Auntie (who came back from GZ), Auntie and uncle (who came back from Tulsa), my cousins at Lei Garden yesterday … Nice wonderful lunch! here’s all of us before our delicious meal! For such a classy restaurant, its really not situated in a classy building!
Went to watch The Phantom of The Opera today. The show was very like the musical. Not much break through, but I do like the show as it sheds new light on to the missing bits that the muscial could not bring out in the theatre performance. The bad points were really both the male leads … The Phantom and Roaul could not act… sighs! That was a show spoiler… some scenes were also shuffled and changed so, I can’t say its an exact replica of the stage production.
Anyway, it was a good show … that was about all that was good about Orchard … the rest was just horrible crowd!

So, did you all eat Tang Yuen yesterday? It was suppose to be the day to eat Tang Yuen … not too sure what day it was suppose to be though.
Anyway, my mother cooked dinner and my brother came home … and my auntie came over too with both my cousins … “family gathering” haha …
my auntie so cute … after dinner ask me to ask my mum to go out and drink coffee or sit down chit chat … I was telling her all the excuses that my mum will come up with … then instead my cousin went to ask … and surprise surprise … my mum said she did not mind watching a movie … and so we washed up everything and headed down to Tiong Bahru to catch whatever show we could catch … (my brother and shaun did not join us … one of them was meeting a producer interested to produce his musical the other wanted to fix his laptop.)
Oh well, so we rushed down to Tiong Bahru and managed to catch National Treasure … To me it was a better than average show … butmy auntie and my mum thought it was a very good show, very exciting … to me it was fast moving, but it wasn’t as exciting … and everything just seems to happen so easily … think after watching Alias nothing thrills as much … (unless of course horror show lah, but that is a different genre!) well, there is also Tomb Raider which I felt was much better … At least Angilena Jolie seems to be more cool in the show … So tired after the show … everthing was closed already!
Just watched Charmed … think the show’s plot is getting alittle too fake … like just making the story for the sake of it … oh well… 5 more episodes … will i be here to watch the final episode … hope i get to watch it … if not … argh … missed the Alias final episode then miss Charmed … faints!

I can’t think of a suitable title for this post and so have left it untitled. I recently cut my fingernails, so the keyboard does not seem to be as easy to type as it should be. Now, I have to physically touched each and every key before it is truly depressed. I used to be able to use my fingernails to hit the keys and I am on my way.
Cold Mountain’s soundtrack currently playing in my head through my iPod … Did not manage to catch the show, but I guess, this can make do! One day … got so much VCDs to watch… recently borrorwed from my brother … The Experiment, Hitler, Sliding Doors, Heaven, and Legend. Still have the final show of Infernal Affairs to catch. Watched the 2nd show a few nights ago and it was brilliant.
Went to my brother’s place for dinner on saturday … he cooked for my dad and I … not bad considering that most of the food was preprocessed … off the shelf (or freezer) and straight into the oven. (pictures at the photo gallery)
House Cleaning update!
Finally, all the curtains in my house is washed and re hung.
The store room has been cleared … less of a mess …
The Kitchen cupboard (two of them only) have been cleaned and cleared)
The horrible cabinet in the dining area has been cleared and no longer shall be inhabited … Too high to take things, and too gross for my liking … (the cupboard still has remnant traces of the time when it was leaking)
My auntie from the US is back with her husband … got to visit them one of these days … my auntie from GZ is arriving tonight … prob visit her soon too …
Xmas is really round the corner … gosh! Have set up my Xmas Tree … more pictures in a couple of days …
Alittle jittery, cos’ dunno when the ABF interview is going to be. Hope all goes well for that … hmm … someone going over on 3rd Jan liao … how come I still don’t have a confirm date? erm … must find out.
shld i watch another episode of CSI? hmm
tmr got to go to school for the NOC briefing and case workshop … let’s hope it will be fun …

oh no … chin … we spent more time walking around, (or on other people’s present… I don’t know the people … ask charles) then on choosing your present … haha! but still, we hope you like it … since you are always an old grouch with respect to christmas present … we shall presume that the more you grouch about the present, the more you like it! started work on my chinese SDK liao … its taking a while … but I learnt a few java terminology translation … heh! long way more to go!

yes, I am back … haven’t been blogging that much recently, always get back rather late and am dead beat … been more interested in updating my photo gallery with my photos taken with my new camera… i neglect his place!

today …
went to have BoD meeting for December in School today, good turn out with 3 new faces, Chee Kit, Weiquan and Michelle. Rushed home to go lunch with my mum then accompanied to collect her spectacles first … so much trouble fitting her new titanium specs .. it just would not sit properly .. my guess is that her face is not as symmetric as she would like it to be. Then went to my grand parents place … my grandfather leg not too good yar … gg to see specialist in SGH on 31 Dec to see what needs to be done … then followed my auntie to SGH … with my grand parents to visit my cousin who had an operation … I drive car … also got 4 other back seat drivers instructing me to how to drive … aiyo … cannot take it sometimes … but then since they are old folks also not nice to be angry … REN!!! Then had dinner at my grand parents place … my brother so free even came over after work to eat too … ok … finally back home and I am beat! yup, beat!
yesterday …
went to ding tai feng to eat with ZJ … he also gg to Shanghai in jan .. for 6 months with NTU … but he staying in Pudong … very far from my place … though he gg to study at Jiao Tong Da Xue near my place … so maybe can visit me heh! Food at Ding Tai Feng … soso only … not impresses! ZJ also bought new camera … somemore cheaper than mine … he got the Konica Minolta X50 … hmm … but i am still happy with my Casio Exilim Z40 … yeah!!! went to meet my mum for dinner … and help her to carry stuff back from her office since she will be gg on leave till the end of the year …
any other stuff i need to update … gosh … i am sleepy! but always off the lights go lie in bed then suddenly cannot sleep liao … jialat then will toss and turn till 2 + then fall asleep… next morning wake up and be so tired still … sigh … am I insomiac?!?!!? argh!
