and the HOLs come again

yea, its that time of the year again … yup, the holidays! the time when all the exams are over and there is “supposedly” no more stress left! haha

to those who still have paper … mug on … anyway, it will be over soon … and time flies like nobody’s business …

hmm … today was a no good day especially bad day with BUSES … Missed one 151 this morning cos’ the bus was too crowded and I did not attempt to squeeze on… I then got on the next 151 which was just as packed … and manage to get my foothold at the door step … I figured that if I did not get onto this bus, I had to take a taxi or be late! By the time I reached school, I had only advanced 3 metres into the bus … yes, the bus was that crowded and all with NUS students !!! argh!!!

morning paper … TR2201 was …. straightforward … although I can’t ascertain if I will get a good grade … lets hope for the best!

afternoon paper at 5 pm … CS3220 … hmm all was a breeze … in fact, it all blew right pass me without me ever knowing what hit me … it was totally unintelligible … what was he testing .. I have never heard of some of the things in that exam paper! and of course the open book “book” was so thick that I never ever read finish it so I could not have found anything useful from it! sighs!!!

was gg to meet stella, malcolm, juana, kc and roland at holland v for the XO fish bee hoon and the 95 bus was against me also … 2 buses went by and they were all packed to the brim … worst then sardines … imagine! so, I walked to Dover to take 74 … luckily i took that bus, cos’ 74 and 95 came together to Bouna Vista mrt and 95 was so packed … if I had waited at SoC, I would have never gotten on the bus till 8.30pm and all the food would have gone cold and gross!

hmm …. need more spcae in my room to put all the unwanted books and notes that have accumulated over the past few sems! shall see about that … maybe in 1 years time when it really becomes a storage problem … heh!

tmr got to call back Ms Lv Jing again … have to very nicely turn down her offer … sighs … to think I caused her so much trouble … so paiseh! hope i dun get too tongue tied tmr and get the correct words out …

later got ALIAS!!! … hmm shld i stay up to watch it .. or sleep and watch it tmr … (“,)

CS3212 Nov 2004 paper

Hmm … according to Dr Martin Henz … it was a simple paper …

according to me, my friends and a whole bunch of other students … it was a HORROR… so who is right?!

oh well …. while doing the paper … even though I could not do alot of questions … (simply too stunned by the questions, and my mind was a blank!) I wasn’t too sad … cos’ I had consoled myself already with this phrase “Alot of people ain’t going to be able to get this right too!” small little smirk on my face … but not too bid a satisfaction … I’m not the worst … but I am never the best … sigh … how to stand out like that …

oh well … 2 more papers to go … both next monday on the 29th of November … TR2201 and CS3220 … once again, I seek divine intervention …

rainy day … and I think the cold temperature in the exam hall has made my running nose come back … finished a whole packed of tissue during the exam … just trying to block my nose … it was a TAP … let’s hope tmr it will stop … need a clear mind to start studying CS3220!

almost resigned

yup, I am almost resigned to the fact that I can take no more information for tmr’s paper.

tmr is my first paper – CS3212 (yup, rather late … some ppl have already completed their exams!) and I feel rather crappy about it … although I have kind of gotten most of the answers for the past year papers, but I still get stumped over relatively simple questions… of course this is a result of not totally “internalizing” programming languages … but who can blame me! Its totally not going to assimilate into my blood stream without casuing major dysfunctional problems to the rest of my body… in simple terms … me and programming languages is a NO GO!

which of course does not conclude that I will do badly for the paper tmr. I am of course hoping that after the nice curve has been drawn, I will not be skewed too far to the bottom of the curve … which is of course a BIG wish for me! Add some divine dust to the wish and it might just come true! (“,)

oh well … SITEX is on tmr till sunday 28th … hmm and it falls so nicely between the start of my exams and the last paper … so I can’t take time to go and check it out … would love to go and play with digital cameras! want to get my hand on one and snap away!

after tmr, its the true test of this entire exam… CS3220 … I have to some how get thru that BIG book which cost me a bomb (60 +) and I have yet to even read 1/4 of the book … aiyah! and think I am not even half done reading the course materials … (read … not revise … since I have never went for lecture after a certain period of time and never did my tutorials everyweek …) hmm … this will need a truck load of divine dust! (“,)

after dinner … “quick bite”

hmm … think I consumed too much food in the last 30mins of dinner! oops! So full now, I should have not eaten finished that huge plate of rice … gosh… and I want to lose weight?! hmm … need more effort in that aspects …

as with my other aspects … studies … going is slow again … yesterday did not do very much except struggle through 1 chapter of CS3220 which was just pipelining … still unclear as to what is covered and what is not … have to revise again after CS3212 …

my main worry now is for CS3212 … gosh, was doing past year papers for this module … and doing is like an understatement … I was merely reading questions and then skipping them as I had no idea how to do them … would have to consult the forum later … (hopefully will get enlightened!) or someone soon! (of course, divine intervention never fails too! … keep praying …)

have you all seen the TV commercial for the new Sony Video Camera.

Not that the camera is drool worthy or anything … just that the commercial is so beautiful! I loved the way it was filmed … and how the music and sceneries chosen just captures my heart. Everytime I watch that commercial, I just want to get one of those cameras and go to some beautiful place … like the one shown in the commercial (Tibet or is it Mongolia) to explore the beautiful world! I know this might sound little far fetched … anyone got that commercial recorded in a computer playable format? I would love to have a copy and keep it. Dunno how to convert the video tape version to computer format also .. since I do not own any video editing cards that have that capability… oh well…

i think i am coming down with something

oh no … think I am catching somthing! Feel alittle something in my throat … head felt so heavy today. Shall cut down on fried food …. and shall drink loads of water … tmr is my medical check up at SGH … hmm … hope nothing is wrong … must sleep early today!

today was slow and painful day to get through … revision moved at a snail pace … largely due to my heavy head, but also due to the material of CS3220 damn difficult to comprehend! sighs … this is gg to be painful getting thru cs3220 revision!

flower

just a note before i hit the sack … hmm, first time I am using this phrase … usually I would just say … go to bed!

anyway, yup, added a new picture to my site … it replaces the main picture of my see saw … both pictures were taken with the same camera on the same day. Camera is a Canon EOS 300 (film) courtesy of my friend Chin Hong who lent it to me for experimenting. Have so far not been diligently experimenting … i want a camera…

anyway, the flower was taken in my garden … I have no idea what species of flower this is … I only know that it was blooming and it will beautiful… I was lucky to catch a good shot of it, even though I wasn’t using the macro lens. (Was too lazy to switch the lens then.) If you notice the photo has alittle blur around the edges and only the flower is sharp … its the camera. I did not use photoshop to enhance it that way. (merely cropped the picture and healed a little smear on the photograph) Not sure how the effect was achieved too since I used auto mode most of the time. My hands just aren’t steady enough to use the manual long exposure for these kinds of shot.

well, do hope to get a digi camera by the end of the year and I can experiment more … considering my interest in taking nice pictures, I should get a better camera that has certain manual functions right? but also considering my liking for small portable cameras, I should get something really small, right?

sighs … now its a major consideration between the Casio Z40 and the Sony W1 …

City Harvest’s Sermon

Happened to feel inspired to watch a sermon today. Surfed to both New Creations and City Harvest’s Website earlier this afternoon around 4.30pm and saw that City Harvest was about to have a live webcast of their service and so decided to tune in to that.

This is my 2nd time tuning into Pastor Kong’s sermon online. I have yet to visit the physical church. Still not so comfortable with his way of preaching but getting used to it. Still there is this underlying feeling of the church being about numbers, and about Sun. I’m sure alot of people would know what I am refering to. Nothing against the church, just some personal evaluation and feelings thus far. (maybe, if anyone has better insights can share with me)

Oh well, its was quite nice listening to so many people singing praises and worshipping all at once. Though from the live footage the fervent youths look kind of intimidating! (at least to me!)

According to Pastor Kong, they are looking at having a bigger building that will be able to sit at least 10,000 people. WOW! and they want to hit 20,000 church members by next year. Well, like Pastor Kong said, “Speak what you want, and get what you speak” or to that extent lah… its as the bible says … Pray and you shall receive… Confess it and believe it… then it will surely come true!

That is a good message and brings hope and comfort to alot of people, me inclusive.

In this time of examinations, when time is a scarcity I shall pray and ask for time and wisdom. I shall pray to do well in the examinations. (In fact, I always do!) I think that is one of the reasons why I have consistently did reasonably well over the past few years. I have believed that everything I do, the Lord is with me. His Holy Spirit and angels will guide my hand, my heart and my mind… surely wisdom will flow forth. Shall not lack that faith this time.

Guess many times when human affairs press too near then we feel strained and feel that we have been abandoned. Well, that is the best time to trust and have faith. Also like to mention the wonderful miracles that the Lord had worked in my journey through NCS. In helping me through all the interviews, in helping me secure a job so easily. Like they say, “All things are possible through Jesus Christ!”

Hugging the Buddha’s Feet!

Interesting use of words there… I got this email from my brother and I smirked to myself for a couple of minutes. Aren’t we all doing just that!

To all students, remember keep your arms well stretched, this is to faciliate a better grip when you are “Hugging the Buddha’s feet”.

I forgot to set the timer to tape Charmed yesterday! Fortunately, I have watched that episode while I was in Guangzhou in June. It is the episode with the headless horseman.

Anyway, since I did not tape the show, I guess I have one less distraction for the day.

Singapore Idol is on later … and since its the final 3, I think I shall stay tuned (after all, its suppose to be getting more exciting!)
